Title: Project Engineer (Civil).
Contract Type: Regular Position.
- B. Eng./ B.Sc. Civil Engineering or its equivalent with at least 3 years’ work experience in building/ construction related industry.
- Project Management, Analytical, Engineering Design/Detailing skills are required.
- Registration with professional body is an added advantage.
- Computer literacy (AutoCAD, Microsoft office).
- Monitor and ensure compliance to all HSE rules for Work at height and other risks projects.
- Carry out Joint Safety tours, Safety Green Light and Life Saving Checks for ongoing projects.
- Conduct risk assessment and HSE plan meetings before commencement of any project.
- Carry out visits to new and existing company sites for engineering assessment and Technical report.
- Define work scope recommendation and project proposal.
- Carry out engineering analysis, designs and calculations for projects that have such requirement.
- The jobholder also prepares the required engineering drawings.
- Prepares cost estimates based on the aforementioned and will define BOQ and tender requirements with Quantity Surveyor.
- Provides all necessary engineering assistance to contractors in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Manage and organise interventions with contractors and suppliers in the project.
- Conducts site visits, inspect works, organise and direct site meetings.
- Must ensure that works are done in compliance with safety regulations and quality requirements.
- Appraises contractors at the completion of project.
- Ensures that drawings, materials and information/ data required for proper job execution are made available to the contractor.
- Ensures that equipment, materials and works comply with the scope requirements, guidelines, quality and safety standard.
- The jobholder follows up on the payment of the contractors and prepares financial statement for projects executed.
- Must ensure that all project documentation are in order at project conclusion; dashboard, as-built drawings/BOQs.
- The Project Engineer shall be based in the company’s head office, but will be required to visit any of the company’s sites at various.
- locations all over the country as required from time to time.
- The Project Engineer shall liaise with Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Engineers, Maintenance Supervisors and Assistants.
