Job Title: Operations and Performance Analyst, North.

Location: Gombe.

About the role

  • The Operations and Performance Analyst is responsible for collating and analyzing operational performance data for the purpose of improving the performance of North Cement Plant.
  • He analyzes the plant production and cost data, identifies wasteful processes, and makes recommendations to improve efficiency.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Measures daily production performance by equipment, by line and by plant against the OEM/BDP quantity, analyses and explains variance in detail for performance improvement.
  • Performs weekly and monthly analysis of plant performance highlighting variances to key performance indicators and undertakes review of plant reports to ensure consistency of information with other reports e.g. monthly production reports, advance downtime analysis program (ADAP) reports, costing tool report etc.
  • Under the supervision of the Finance controller, he undertakes root cause analysis to variances of the Plants and regional performance and presents explanations to variances of key performance indicators compared to plan; advising management on corrective actions for improved performance.
  • Supports the Finance Controller in leading the weekly, monthly and annual planning, forecasting and budgeting cycles for the North plant and for the region.
  • Fully responsible for the supervision of monthly cycle counting and reconciliation of Inventory of Spare parts across the Northern region.
  • Takes the lead in quarterly measurement and reconciliation of process materials across the SW plants to validate the accuracy of inventory balances; proposes inventory adjustments for approval in line with the DOA.
  • Monitors Internal Control environment of the Northern plant and drives compliance with Internal controls standards, policies and procedures in line with LHARP rules.
  • Serves as the Month-End Closing (MEC) Coordinator for the Northern plant; ensuring accurate reporting of monthly Key Statistical KPIs for both Ewekoro and Sagamu Plants in line with LHARP.
  • Proactively engages with plant management on reporting requirements and uses reporting tool for automating reports, in consultation with reporting team.
  • Performs any other functions as may be assigned by the Plant controller.
  • Responsible for Overall financial activities for Ashaka plant

What we are looking for 

Level of Education/qualifications:

  • A University degree in Sciences or Social Sciences or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in cement industry and on similar role.
  • A professional qualification in Accounting (desirable).
  • SAP Intermediate Knowledge.

Specific Work experience:

  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Have a proven track record of working closely with commercial teams, sales and operational teams.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence applications.

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer Skills especially Excel, word, powerpoint and email applications.
  • Ability to prioritize with excellent time management skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
