Job Description

- We work hand in hand with other investors, providing them with the insights and tools needed to scale their investments effectively, all while navigating the complex credit risk landscape.

Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management: monitor existing transactions and prepare updates for monthly and annual reviews.
- IC meetings: Prepare and present deal updates to IC as needed, including taking meeting minutes.
- Support transactions from end to end: origination, due diligence, and credit analysis of existing and new borrowers; preparing financial projections; loan structuring; negotiating legal documents with counter-parties alongside legal counsel; monitoring the ongoing performance of facilities; tracking covenants; and presenting the analysis to internal credit committees.
- Perform detailed market research, due diligence, and business analysis. Prepare analytical products, including presentations, reports, briefings, and other materials.
- Perform credit analysis of the financial condition and creditworthiness of existing and prospective borrowers using analysis of historical and projected financial statements (income, cash flow, balance sheet), P&L, tax returns, biographical data, market information, credit reports, and other data; manage client onboarding and KYC/AML reviews.
- Support customized client engagements (e.g., investors, distributed energy companies, policymakers, and development agencies); assist in the structuring, legal documentation implementation, and monitoring of commercially viable financing facilities aligned with risk standards; and provide a detailed understanding of the client’s strategic and financial objectives.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Nithio credit risk policies and procedures in compliance with applicable local and US regulations and assist the company in achieving satisfactory risk-adjusted returns on its lending portfolio as well as strong internal and external audit results.
- Support the creation of systems to measure, mitigate, manage, and limit credit risk exposures.

Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or a related field).
- Work experience in either investment banking, private equity, debt funds, or corporate finance.
- Strong analytical skills with financial modeling experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including financial modeling.
- Outstanding communication and writing skills.
- Strong judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively, are strongly preferred. Previous experience in off-grid solar is also strongly preferred.
- Results-oriented individual with a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
- Proven ability to successfully prioritize multiple competing priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated the ability to advance discrete projects both independently and as part of a small team.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; confidence, and a can-do attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with senior executives, external vendors, and multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated interest or previous experience working in Africa or emerging markets is preferred but not required.
