Job Description
- The role will be responsible for establishing the bank’s governance framework and strategic directives.
- It will also steer the bank towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, legal, and ethical financial management policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the bank adheres to regulatory requirements and maintains high standards of corporate governance.
- Oversee the performance of the executive management team.
- Provide independent and objective advice on the bank’s strategic plans and initiatives.
- Ensure that the bank has effective risk management policies and practices in place.
Required Experience and Capabilities
- First degree in any discipline.
- MBA or relevant Master’s degree.
- Relevant professional qualifications (i.e., ACIB, CFA, CIS, ACA, FCA, etc.).
- Minimum of 20 years’ cognate professional experience or management experience acquired both domestically and internationally.
- Good knowledge of banking operations and relevant laws and regulations guiding the financial services industry.
- Well versed in interpreting financial statements.
- Sound understanding of national and international business.
- Prior board experience is an added advantage.
