We are hiring for:

Job Title: Hotel General Manager.
Location: Sabo-Yaba, Lagos.
Employment Type: Full-time.

 

Job Brief

  • In this position, the general manager will direct and coordinate hotel activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximise full potential with a balanced focus on hotel mission, guests, employees, and owners’ satisfaction.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • The general manager is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the hotel.
  • Assigns duties to HOD’s and observes performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
  • Provides training for staff and HOD’s.
  • Acts as the hotel’s public relations director and promotes the property within the hotel industry, local communities, and trade associations.
  • Monitor the guest feedback on Trip Advisor and hotels GSTS and RSTS surveys.
  • Receives and resolves guest complaints and the service recovery process.
  • Liaise with the HR unit in the interview and selection of hotel staff.
  • Review employee performance and conduct personnel actions such as disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains accurate records, including the cash flow sheet, guest floor limit, AR ageing reports, and direct billing.
  • Ensure full compliance with hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Builds owner loyalty through proactive communication, setting and managing expectations, and delivering solid business results.
  • Audits on par stock in all areas to make sure that all required hotel supplies are ordered and stocked in advance of need.
  • Performs sudden audits on rooms and other operating areas.
  • Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
  • Must be available 24/7 in case to respond to any guest or employee emergencies.
  • Corporate client handling and take part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required.
  • Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
  • All other duties as assigned by the management.

 

Job Qualifications

  • The applicant should have a minimum qualification of B.Sc./HND or an education/experience combination in the areas of marketing, hospitality, business administration, and property management.
  • Knowledge of hotel property software and understanding of business administration principles are key.

Experience:

  • The Hotel General Manager position will require a cognate experience of 10 years and above with extensive experience in managing hotels.
  • A good record of balancing general duties as well as marketing.
  • Good personality and excellent command of English, strong organisation, public relations, and management skills.
