Job Summary
- Accountable for assisting in the corporate planning & strategy process and designing & implementing the necessary mechanisms to track performance against long-term and near-term plans. Including identifying and prioritising business opportunities to help shape the company’s strategic direction and drive organisational growth.
- Assist in efforts to identify and establish viable opportunities to grow the company’s profitability. Providing financial and strategic insights that help the decision-making process and align capital and resource allocation within the business budget.
- Charged with managing and tracking the execution of critical growth initiatives and projects of the organisation as well as any other supporting tasks as may be required by the IRM and the GM GCD from time to time.
- Analysing financial reports, creating financial models, conducting market research, and strategising on ideas to improve business operations.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic:
- Assists in all activities relating to merger and acquisition transactions undertaken by the company and in the execution of corporate finance-led mandates.
- Work on a wide range of strategic projects involving partnerships, investments in the company, and strategy for product and geographical expansion and be responsible for scoping, developing, delivering, and implementing them.
- Assists in the development of a comprehensive business plan that articulates the organisation’s pre-aligned targets and communicates outcomes and recommendations to the IRM and GM GCD.
- Reviewing of market & industry trends to develop business insights and evaluate the impact upon the organisation’s current and future performance.
- Keep track of key developments as well as best practices to continually identify new ideas, tools, and trends that could provide opportunities.
- Assists in the identification, screening, and prioritising of opportunities and in building compelling investment pitch documents as well as comprehensive competitor analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation.
- Applies business acumen to analyse raw data and assess quantitative and qualitative trends across strategic market segments.
- Performs other assigned duties as delegated by the IRM and GM, Group Corporate Development, from time to time.
Operational:
- Serves as Project Manager/GCE office liaison on key corporate development & strategic initiatives projects for the group, corporate development, and the GCE’s office.
- Assists the IRM in executing the Group Corporate Development program and operating plan.
- Responsible for the preparation of financial analysis and data for corporate finance (CF) initiatives and transactions. Serve as a focal point on all corporate finance analysis and financial models’ development.
- Develops plans, forecasts, and analyses for strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects, including new business lines, markets, and products, strategic decision-making in day-to-day operations, and other growth initiatives.
- Monitors operational changes through ongoing contacts with company management and develops corporate presentation and material based on these changes.
- Preparation of periodic project reports, tracking the status of all projects and issues encountered.
- Assists the various divisions in the preparation and periodic updates of budgets and forecasts, and in collating and interpreting results for group leadership purposes.
- Monitor key financial performance indicators of various divisions based on approved forecasts.
- Actively manage various databases and applications, including comparable companies and related transactions databases, treasury, cashflow and liquidity reports, etc.
- Conduct financial statement analysis of target companies and comparable companies.
- Conduct research and, where necessary, due diligence with regards to potential buyers/investors/takeover targets for potential M&A activities.
- Provide project management support to the IRM as the need arises.
Job Specification
- 1st Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or other finance-related area
- Minimum of 3 years combined post-qualification experience in a finance-related field (experience in corporate finance or investment banking is an added advantage).
- High proficiency in financial modelling techniques. CFA qualification (achieved or in view) is an added advantage.
- Clear understanding of financial statements and capital markets.
- Sector knowledge of the oil and gas industry, renewables, and the mineral extraction industry will be an added advantage.

- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.
